where are the insightful intellectual posts that i've come to cherish ? do we need to start a petition to get you posting more regularly or would a well placed chapters gift card bribe suffice ?
awww shucks...you got me blushin...been thinkin bout continuing more regularly but let me tell you what my real reason is: I hate the way my blog looks right now.
I wanted three evenly spaced columns with a snakeskin header and beige background with chocolate brown text. My blog looks ugly after trying to change it...I'm such a perfectionist that until I can dedicate time to fix this blog I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
Let me intellectualize that for you - the medium is the message; therefore, style is substance. I don't completely believe this but with a blog it is especially true. People come to see where you place your ideas as a representation of the quality of those ideas. If people aren't that superficial, I am. It's like reading a great essay with bad spelling...
...however, I do love Chapters (TM) and might get on this re-vamping a little sooner if you follow up on the promise! There was also a really great pair of shoes I was eyeing... just kidding ;)
i hear you on the style is the substance tip... we do live in the "Age of Aesthetics" (http://www.dynamist.com/tsos/index.html) where content is second to "the look". although i despise this attitude in our culture. i whole heartedly use it to my advantage in the workplace. creating, positioning and recreating my own brand. its all the in the strategy you see.
which brings me to my original intentions...
i spent the last half hour working on trying to get you your evenly spaced columns. even called up my tech support homie. i'm upset at him because he's actually working. but rest assured that will make sure you get your page pimped.
as far as the gift card and the shoes n all a dat. this will be discussed a la gmail.
You tried to help pimp my blog, are u serious? I'm trying to figure out if you're a man or a woman because this could get really exciting...it feels like you're a guy but I don't want to ass-u-me.... I probably know you really well - are you the mailman?
for real, thanks for checking in on me and for the compliments...I feel like I need to manufacture something interesting to say so that you can keep leaving me great, exciting posts... but, that's not afroBlog!
promise to write soon, after a big obligation is over (end of next week)...peace.
